Christmas Wishes Granted ….

by Julie

I know this site is supposed to be fun, but sometimes I start to feel guilty about having such fun when there is such heartache everywhere around us.

Our local radio station started a Christmas Wish list a few years ago, the wishes they grant are mind-boggling!

These DJ’s are amazing people, and larger than life … they go out of their way to help others …..

I’m going to link you to the radio station’s Christmas Wish site (some have videos, others are just audio for various reasons).

I cannot even begin to tell you how a lot of these broadcasts have affected me, make-up is a no-no because by the time I get to work, it’s all gone anyway … and I have to patch it up …

Jeremy Mansfield, Sam Cohen, Bongani Khumalo, Paul Rotherham … and a few others are truly caring people who make the impossible dreams of people come true.

Santa will be fighting for his job very soon, because to me this is what Christmas is all about.

There are still 6 days to go on this Christmas Wish List (they grant two every morning) – and the last wish granted is the biggest .. if you take a look at some of the wishes they have already done – I don’t even think I can listen to that last one ….

I just thank the Lord above that there are still people like this on this earth!

  2. Julie,

    Ya wee bugger !!!

You’ve started me greeting, (sob, sob)

It’s well to remember that there is a lot of suffering in this world. But remember too that there are an awful lot of good people out there.

It does not take much to make a difference to someone’s life for the better.

Sometimes just being there to hold their hand, or being ready to listen to their voice, to hear their pain, to let them know they are not alone, can make a world of difference to their life.

  3. Julie that’s absolutely lovely!!

There are millions of good people in the world

Now can I interest you in buying a raffle ticket for the ‘poor nurse with three kids at christmas’ fund? ;)

  4. It’s a pity they don’t do wishes for overseas people … I could’ve put your name forward as a “needy” cause ….. ;-)

  5. Can I pitch in for a donation to the Shortarsed Mechanical Engineer’s Benevolent fund?

It’s a worthy cause, with all donations going towards a campaign for the reintroduction of platform shoes.

  6. Platform shoes?

    I’m scared of heights!

(That’s why my inventor knew not to make me tall)

  7. ah one of the original low life then jules??? ;)

  8. I was wondering if you could grant my Christmas wish. I recently brought a mobile home and didn’t know that it was falling apart. The ceiling was falling, the foundation needed to be reinforced, the roof needed to be replaced not to mention the exterior needed a lot of work. Well to make a long story short. I have spent all my savings, took money out on credit cards took out personal loans, but I ran out of money and the contractor refuses to finish the job since I can not continue to pay for the work. I need help not only to pay the contractor but to also pay my bills. I have an 11 month old daughter and my husband gets paid very little at work. We are trying our best to make ends meet but it just isn’t enough. I would never ask for help like this but I really need it. Please help my family. All I wanted was to have a nice place for my daughter to grow up.
