Not very often (if ever) that I agree with anything proposed by the Tories but I’m with them 100% on this one.
William Hague said it first. Now London Mayor, Boris Johnson, has said the same – appointing Tony ‘self-righteous, smug, I’m on personal talking terms with God’ Balir as President of the EU will not go down well with many folk in the UK.
As Mr Johnson said -
we don’t want some big magnifico swanning round the globe purporting to be acting on our behalf when we haven’t even been consulted
To many folk the prospect of Tony Bliar, in particular, becoming EU President is especially galling given his dubious qualifications for the role. He is after all the man who led the UK into two disastrous ‘wars’ in Iraq and Afghanistan in somewhat ‘dubious’ circumstances and has failed miserably in his subsequent role as Peace Envoy to the Middle East.
And then there is the prospect of handing more money-grabbing opportunities to Cherie . . . No, I won’t go there !
