Suitcases come in all sorts of colours, shapes, materials, and sizes. The first 3 of these characteristics are not defining features of a suitcase but size arguably is – below a certain size it may more accurately be described as a handbag?
Anyways, if one was left on the floor and you were walking towards it, you’d be hard pushed not to see it (unless you were blind) far less trip over it (unless you were drunk).
Yet a man in the US is suing a Hilton Hotel in Chicago because he tripped over an unattended suitcase in the hotel as a result of which he -
‘suffered various personal injuries, and suffered great pain, anguish and suffering, loss of a normal life, and . . . lost income and/or became liable for various medical expenses‘
Right, I expect you want more details of this terrible accident that so cruelly injured this man.
1. Where did the accident occur? – at the Hilton Hotel ‘located at or near 17 Monroe street, Chicago’
2. When did the accident occur? – ‘on or about 7th October‘
3. Where was the suitcase? – ‘at or near an executive level floor area snack or guest room and/or concierge area‘
Hhmm, all sounds rather vague to me – not exactly sure where the Hotel is, not exactly sure when the accident happened, not exactly sure where the suitcase was when he tripped over it. Dear me, the poor man must have been terribly pissed concussed to have so little recollection of the dreadful accident !!!
