Today saw the start of the Bathurst 1000, a four-day motor sport festival in New South Wales, Australia.
Police are determined that the enjoyment of the many should not be spoilt by the antics of a few.
‘Thousands of race fans enjoy the event and police will not allow their safety to be compromised by a drunken few,’ said Asst Comm Alan Clarke.
They are therefore enforcing a strict crackdown on the amount of alcohol each person will be allowed to drink.
Beer drinkers will be limited to 24 cans per day
Wine drinkers will be limited to 4 litres a day
