Paul and Brandy Romero, of Eunice, Louisiana have been given 5 yr suspended prison sentences after pleading guilty to swapping a cockatiel (and $175) for two kids.
The couple had advertised the cockateil for sale.
Donna Greenwell of Glenmora responded to the ad and offered the 2 kids in exchange.
(the kids were not hers but were staying with her with the knowledge of their parents)
Ms Greenwell has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of sale of minor children. The trial date is fixed for November
