Notes from a Dead Child

Elena Desserich

Elena Desserich‘s parents were told their daughter had a brain tumour shortly before her 6th birthday. At best, they were told, she could expect to live another 135 days. In the event, she surpassed that and died 255 days later.

After her death, her parents found a note she had left for them. Then another, and another, and . . .

The notes had been hidden inside books, DVDs, closets.

Two years after her death they are still finding notes she left behind

Simple notes. With simple messages. Just a few words to say all that really mattered

I love you Mom.
I love you Dad.
I love you Gracie (her little sister)

  1. What? You want us all to cry, is that it ? :(

  2. No way am I going to watch that video. I know my threshold.

  3. At the moment, I cant watch something like this. Just got home from visiting my best friend of 25 years. Finding a friend like this comes only once in a lifetime, and you’re very lucky if you find a friend that lasts this long! I have one, I love her dearly and she feels the same way about me.

No matter what, she has always been there for me, and I have been there for her. Of course we’ve had our fights, but our friendship has always won.

Her mom died yesterday, it’s hard, very hard for me to try and be brave for her. I can’t do it, her mom was like my mom. When I left this evening her husband said to me “she needed this, she needed someone with her who knows exactly how she feels” ….. I do, her mom was my mom …… the day of the funeral, Tuesday is going to be very hard, I need to be there for her, yet I feel the same as she does … I’m heartbroken.

But be there for her, I will, come hell or high water, I will be standing next to her.

  4. I just found out this little girl’s fam is from Cincinnati. Who knew.

  5. wish i couldve seen this before they pulled it.
