Man dropped in the Nutty Putty

by duncanr

This would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

A young man exploring caves with some friends got got stuck head first in a hole called ‘Nutty Putty’ – (don’t ask me why)

Unable to get out of the hole by himself or with the help of his friends, the cave rescue service was called in to assist.

It was a difficult situation but with the use of ropes and a system of pulleys, the ‘professionals’ managed to pull 26 yr old John Jones out of the hole. They gave him some much needed food and water. Unfortunately, before they could move him back to the surface, they accidentally dropped him back down the hole – where he became stuck again.

It is thought Mr Jones subsequently died around midnight. Rescuers are returning to the scene today in another attempt to remove his body from the hole

  1. I saw this on CNN and I was getting claustrophobic just reading the article. I could never be a spelunker.

  2. Stuff like this terrifies me – the thought of being trapped and my movement constrained.

    urghhh…

If the CIA ever wanted me to own up to anything, they could leave the waterboarding kit at home and just shut me a big shoe box; I’d crack in minutes.

  3. Sorry but this mad me laugh!!! :o oops:

I’ll go sit back in the naughty corner!!!

  4. Noseyyyy!!

    How’re you doing?

You’ve been gone for that long, I thought you’d become a hermit, and gone to live in a cave.

  5. hiya nobbly – a cave would have been preferable to the parallel universe that i’ve been living in! I’m still in it but there is a definate light at the end of the tunnel now

and just occasionally the old noseyness surfaces but don’t get too comfortable because i will be back in full form at some point (dependent on NHS competance and bed availability!)
