The thrust of my original post was against Prince Michael not Mr DK, but I am happy to discuss Mr DK actions.

One person’s truth is not necessarily the same as another’s. The same observed event may be interpreted very differently by different observers.

What appears to be ‘fact’ is that Mr DK escaped from the hotel ahead of other guests and hotel employees.

The original interpretation of this event by british papers such as the mirror and the people was that a heroic Briton had ‘led’ the other guests and employees to safety.

The same event as seen through the eyes of many of the other survivors and hotel employees trapped in the same room with Mr DK is that he put his own safety first – scuttling from the room ahead of elderly, infirm or women guests.

Two very different interpretations of the same event.

You ask why bollywood stars are so upset? I suspect it is because they favour the second interpretation above and hence believe they have been duped into lending their names and their presence to a scheme whereby people were encouraged to donate money to the Foundation Mr DK set up.

I think a large part of their anger at Mr DK could be defused if he was to publish a very transparent set of accounts detailing the money raised through the Gala Event for instance and listing the amounts of that money his Foundation has spent/is spending on the survivors and/or restoring/rebuilding businesses and buildings. Their continued complaints would then seem churlish

Did all the lawyers who might pursue a libel claim on his behalf accompany him to Mumbai ?

Incidentally, I note that given the number of hotel guests and staff who have made statements that far from staying behind to organise the escape of guests from the hotel, he was actually the first to flee, Kuntawala has downgraded his claims to be a ‘hero’ – he now says that judgement is ‘subjective’, i.e., it is an opinion held by him, but not by many other people (other than Prince Michael of Kent)

Do you regard ‘The Times Of India’ as unreliable as the Mumbai Mirror?

P.S. If the allegations that he is a fraud are untrue why has he not sued the various media sources for libel ?

Oh please tell anyone you like. Mumbai Mirror tell the truth…ha ha. This is India you’re talikng about…are YOU sure they haven’t been paid to write this trash.

Maybe they’re writing ‘such things’ because they have evidence that they’re true.

Do you have evidence that they’re not true, and that the Mumbai Mirror are being unreasonably vindictive?
