Please sir…..

Call those nazi salutes? You can all stay behind and practice.

….what’s a “Nazi scumbag”?

A government commissioned report has stated that members of the BNP should not be banned from being employed as teachers.

As ever, where the British Nazi National Party is concerned, I have mixed feelings towards this sort of announcement; especially in this case, wher I could easily be mistaken for actually being in agreement with Nick Griffin. Rest assured that nothing could be further from the truth, as any of the despicable twat’s whiny ramblings on this subject are strictly one sided, and in the interest of promoting his party’s brand of hatred. He is more transparent than this office window that I’m sat next to, and not nearly as useful.

I detest the BNP, their smarmy manipulative leader, and all that they stand for; but this very stance is what prevents me from getting all wound up about them still being allowed to teach our kids. Ironically, the idea of banning people from certain professions because of their political viewpoint (however odious) typifies the authoritarian and oppressive regime that the BNP wish to impose on the country. Interestingly, the conservatives seem to think along these lines as well, if you read the BBC article for their education spokesamn’s response to the Smith review.

So, full marks for a halfway decent decision.

Without such common sense, and before we knew it, the government would be hand picking their own people to brainwash teach our kids, and we’d be in a right Orwellian nightmare.

Decisions on who is fit to teach in a school, either as a new appointment or at a disciplinary review, are matters for the school board and management team; not for central or local government.

Do we have any other views?

  1. I heard this on the radio on the way to work this morning. Like you, I detest the BNP so I have mixed feelings, but in a democracy you have to accept other peoples right to hold differing views. If you start banning BNP members (it is after all a legitimate political party) from certain occupations, how long before you start banning other people with differing views/lifestyles e.g., gays/lesbians/atheists from certain occupations? And who would make these sort of decisions? Made me think of the McCarthy era in the USA and the hounding/persecution/denial of opportunities suffered by those accused of being communists !!!

I would not like to see the UK drift into that kind of society

  2. …. may I have some more?

  3. I’m with you guys.

If I had kids, then the thought of them being tutoured by a BNP affiliate would fill me with dread. That said, in the interest of democracy, you have to allow all a fair crack of the whip, regardless of how asinine their viewpoints may be.

    • I have worked with a couple of far-right people over the years.

One was a town planner in Salford, and a member of the NF before the BNP were formed. The other is currently a supplier of mine, and an ex-NF Chelsea skinhead boot boy when in his youth.

By rights, I should detest the pair of them, but they are both thoroughly decent blokes, and pleasant company. This confuses me no end, as providing the conversation is kept away from politics and current affairs, we get on fine. As well as being confusing, it is also worrying, as the idea that two seemingly decent, normal blokes could in fact be the monsters that I imagine BNP members to be, leads me to wonder how many more of them are out there.
