Gov Jan Brewer, who steered through Arizona’s controversial anti-immigration law, fails to impress in TV debate amongst candidates seeking to be the next Governor of the State.
She flounders in her opening remarks –
then at the end of the debate she refuses to respond to a challenge from her democratic opponent to admit she lied about bodies being beheaded in the desert. When reporters pressed her to make the same admission afterwards – she refused to answer, then did a runner -
meet the next Sarah Palin ?
I’ve seen some brass necked politicians in my time, but most of them are at least professional about avoiding the issue or ducking questions.
This dozy mare is simply inept.
I wonder if it could be arranged to let Paxman loose on her?
Would you believe the latest polls put her 12 points clear of her Democratic rival for the governorship !
Will be interesting to see if that piss-poor performance has any effect on her support amongst the voters ?
To be honest, Arizona is a long way from here, and I couldn’t really give a toss which dipshit politician gets elected.
I do, however, like to see the bastards squirm, whilst musing on just how bloody incompetent some US politicians (Basil Whatsisface is a classic example, Palin aint so far behind….) are, without it occuring to them that they are figures of fun rather than capable of fulfilling a useful role in government.
As you know, I’m not great fan of British politicans or anyone wth aspirations in that direction, but even the slimiest of them is head and shoulders above some of the wankers that we see on the US TV news channels.
I guess Arizonans (?) deserve what they get.
I’ve seen her many times on short interviews and she’s never done this nor spoken with bad grammar. She claims she had “brain freeze,” which she obviously did. I think because she’s fought so hard for the people of AZ thus far, they’re willing to forgive this. But I still want to know what’s going on with her “decapitated” comment that she refused to address. That was the first time I’d ever heard of it and she apparently did say it.
