Coming from a nation that considers throwing big chuckie stanes or tossing tree trunks a ‘sport’, it ill behoves me to poke fun at other nation’s odd pastimes.
So I’ll refrain from any smart-ass remarks and just mention that the Japanese Annual ‘dig a bloody great big hole as fast as you can’ competition was held just outside Tokyo the other day.
Over 1,000 people turned up (each with their own shovel) to compete in this riveting event, in which the winner is the person who digs the deepest hole in 30 minutes.
