Well, well, well, there was always something distinctly ‘odd’ about the ‘on/off/on again’ decision to charge Julian Assange with ‘rape’
If you remember, the two women, reportedly, did not intend to accuse Assange of rape, but were persuaded to do so by a police officer after they visited a police station to ask for advice about forcing Assange to take an HIV test.
A Swedish newspaper has now reported that . . .
a female police officer who first interrogated the two women was actually a friend to one of them. The two women knew each other from shared membership of the same political party, were friends on Facebook, and visited each other’s blogs. Moreover, the police officer posted negative comments about Assange on her Facebook page.
All this is good news to Assange’s defense team who will no doubt use this information to bolster their appeal against the UK court’s decision to extradite him to Sweden
