A Christian group called One Million Moms has called on JC Penney to fire new spokesperson Ellen DeGeneres because she’s gay. In response, JC Penney told One Million Moms to piss off – they were standing by their decision to appoint DeGeneres as their new spokesperson.
Here’s what the lady herself has to say to her haters
Right! That’s it!
I will not shop at JC Penney again.
Here are my reasons:-
1. Last time I was in one, I got stalked by two old biddies who wanted to “……hear you talk again, because we just love your English accent. Do you live in London?”. They were bloody relentless, and pursued me around the shop while I tried to buy a handbag for my wife, and a St Louis Cardinals shirt with “McGWIRE” on the back, that was small enough for my son.
I was on a loser on both counts. All the kids size S shirts were big enough for a small troop of scouts to camp in, and it was asking the the old biddies “Excuse me ladies but could you please tell me what you lot over here call a ‘handbag’, and where I might find them?” that got me into their clutches in the first place.
2. There isn’t one in Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester, Huddersfield or anywhere else near me.
As for Ellen – I think she’s wonderful.
And for those that are interested, I never did buy a shirt for No1 son, but did buy a bag for MrsN. She hated it and gave it away at the first opportunity.
