Nigella’s Hokey Pokey

by duncanr

Because today is ‘Shrove Tuesday’ I was going to post a vid of Nigella Lawson tossing and nibbling a pancake but I left it too late and the day’s nearly gone.

So here instead (for ratty) is Nigella demonstrating how to make some Cornish ‘Hokey Pokey’ – she loves a bit of a ‘swirl’ and likes some bits to be large and biteable!

  1. I’ve read of Shrove Tuesday on another blog, and found out about the pancake tradition. When I was in my twenties, I had a French pen pal tell me Mardi Gras was mostly a children’s holiday there, not much for the adults. Of course you know it’s a big deal here, especially in New Orleans. But did you know that Mardi Gras in the U.S. was first celebrated in my hometown of Mobile, Alabama? This is why Mobile is known as the “Mother of the Mystics”!
