The word sportsman has two generally accepted usages (see above). Only the first of these can be used to describe the Algerian born French runner Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad following . . .his treatment of a mascot at the European Athletics Championship in Helsinki
P.S. the 14 yr old girl inside the mascot costume is lucky Mahiedine Mekhissi-Benabbad won that race. This is how he reacts when he loses -
