NASA vs NBC

by The Madhatters

Because of the distance involved, NASA scientists have to wait 14 minutes to find out what’s happening on Mars (14 minutes being the time taken for information travelling at the speed of light to cover the distance between Mars and the Earth – which is pretty good really, when compared to how long they have to wait for NBC to show them what’s happening at the London Olympics

  1. Haha! What an astute observation. I’ve been annoyed by the Olympics’ broadcast display here in the US, and I followed NASA’s progress on Mars, but I never would have noticed how ironic the difference between their broadcast displays was. Congrats on making me thoroughly frustrated for not having noticed this myself. >_<

    • thanks for dropping by, James, and leaving a comment.

wish I could take credit for spotting the irony here but I stole the pic from the Bits & Pieces web site
