   Can’t wait for what Nobbly, with his “Iechyd da’s” and “Isn’t it’s,” has lined up for us on his return from Zombieland Wales.

   Anyone else notice that Duncan omitted the name of the bridge in his glowing assessment of Bobby Gentry’s rendition of “Ode to Billy Joe?”

   I’m talking about the “Tallahatchie” bridge.

   Could it be that he had a problem with the spelling ?

   I was seven when this came out, and half-remembered it, not knowing who sang it until I was in my 30s or 40s, when I heard it on the radio for the first time since then. It took me back, and I think it’s a beautiful song. I haven’t checked, but I suspect that Doris Day did a version.
