Asaram Bapu is an Indian ‘Holy’ Man with, it seems, a lot of followers. The idea that thousands of people actually take this idiot seriously is a pretty depressing thought.
Few people, in and outside of India, can be unaware of the 23yr old student who was raped by a gang of men on a Delhi bus, beaten with an iron bar, the bar thrust so deep into her vagina that when it was withdrawn most of her intestines were pulled from her body, stripped naked, and then thrown out onto the road like a piece of garbage when the men had done with her. So serious were her injuries that despite a concerted effort by doctors to save her, she ultimately lost her life.
Bapu’s view of this incident?
The girl was . . . in part to blame for what happened to her – if only she had called her attackers ‘brothers’ and prayed for them to stop, they would have done so

Does he seriously believe the girl did not beg/plead/pray for the men to leave her alone?
It gets worse. According to Bapu, the girl was complicit in her own rape and beating – it takes two hands to clap, he said
