The three members of the Kashmiri girl band, Pragaash, have disbanded after Grand Mufti Mulehead issued a fatwah against the girls, sparking a torrent of abuse and threats against them on social media sites like Facebook
The fathead who issued the fatwah claimed the girls singing in public was ‘unislamic’. He also argued that women should wear the veil at all times and that women performing in public were to blame for the increasing numbers of rape and sexual assaults upon them
Strange argument innit, that it’s not men who are to blame for rape or ‘eve teasing’ but women for placing temptation in the way of men.
Why do these grand mufti’s not use the same reasoning for other crimes – I have yet to hear one blame the victim of a robbery for putting temptation in the way of thieves by openly displaying goods they then steal
