A Horse, a Horse . . .

One of the stories dominating the news in the UK in recent days has been the discovery that much of the ‘beef’ on sale in supermarkets and fast food outlets is actually horse meat –

Despite tests showing the food is safe to eat, public revulsion has prompted retailers to withdraw these products from sale

From a vegetarian point of view, I can’t really see what all of the fuss is about. If you’re happy to eat the flesh of one four-footed animal herbivore with a tail why shy away from eating the flesh of another ?

A horse! a horse! my kingdom for a horse!

The prevailing view has been that the king was seeking a means to escape the battlefield when he spoke these words – but perhaps the bugger just wanted a burger ?
