It’s said that money is the root of all evil, so I shouldn’t really be surprised at the stories coming out of the US Economic Bail out package.
First there was AIG who’s board, having received $billions, insisted on paying top employees a retention bonus, as a reward for staying in their jobs when all around were losing theirs.
Next came the car manufacturers whose CEO’s, apparently, arrived at a meeting individually in their private jets to ask for a government hand out.
Last week the American Porn industry waded in, wanting a large package to firm up their sagging bottom line.

Mmmm Money
And lastly (so far) we read that Edwardsville, a small town in Alabama, has requested $375 million to fund green energy projects that would help the towns economic revival. Well it certainly would help the towns economic revival, as it only has a population of 194! A cool $2 million would definitely see me through the recession.
The towns representative has said:
“The public perception of us being full of greed and the tremendously ugly comments have disheartened and disappointed us to the point that we are withdrawing our projects…”
Meanwhile, every 5 seconds somewhere in the world a child dies of hunger.
