Two elephant keepers at the Marghazar Zoo in Pakistan have been caught drinking the elephants booze
Well, they said it was for the elephants
Apparently, they have been buying alcohol from a local source since 1992 and adding the cost to the Zoo’s animal food bill, claiming the alcohol was to calm the elephants down during the mating season.
Vet’s (what do they know about it) claim elephants don’t touch alcohol and the two keepers have been suspended on suspicion that they consumed the booze themselves
“That’s a (hic) bloody lie”, said one keeper “I never touched a (hic) drop”

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is to investigate the Girls Scouts of the USA
(well it makes a change from investigating little boys)
They are concerned that elements within the Girl Scouts may hold views that run counter to Catholic teaching

The good Christian folk of Palmerston North District in New Zealand don’t always practice what they preach
Ateliana Lei Malu complained at a church meeting that some lazy bugger was not washing the dishes after Sunday services.
Putting aside, for a moment, the instruction to love one’s neighbour, she marched up to the shirker (yes, it was a man) grabbed him by the hair and pulled him to the ground. She then beat the shit out of him before other churchgoers managed to pull her off him – though too late to prevent her scratching his face, giving him a black eye, and ripping part of his ear lobe off

They got all dressed up in their new gowns and no doubt spent a long time on their make-up and getting their hair ‘just right’ so they looked the part for the highlight of their year – their High School Prom Dance.
Someone suggested a group photo with their escorts
Someone else suggested they stand on the wooden pier jutting out over the lake for the photo
It no doubt seemed a good idea at the time but . . .

The RC Church in Australia is offering some sage advice to women . . .
There are just not enough eligible men around in Australia, it seems, so if women are to avoid missing out on marriage, they’ll have to stop being so picky and lower their standards a bit – or risk ending up ‘on the shelf’
