The streets of Brum, the temples, and houses, are festooned with lights.

No, it is not Xmas come early. It‘s to mark Diwali – the Festival of Light – the triumph of light over dark, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance.

The festival extends over 5 days, each with their own significance.

    I’m not a religious person, but it seems to me that celebrating something that focusses on personal strength (light over dark) and community togetherness, can only be a good thing.

  2. Nobbly I am religeous, I’ll celebrate Diwali, Eid, Hanika, Christmas, Chinese new year… in fact you name it… 😳

    Actually remember flying into Heathrow one Diwala, thought the plane would get hit by all those fireworks… 😯
