“Post-Christmas blues, cold weather and a long wait until the next holiday” combine to make the first Monday in February the day Britons are most likely to phone in sick, according to business analysts

Around 375,000 of us are expected to pull a ‘sickie’ today – costing the economy £32 million.

  1. This year it is more likely that they are sick because they haven’t got a job to go to, having been made redundant in December and January !
