International Women’s Day

by duncanr

Today being “International Women’s Day”, I couldn’t let the occasion pass without comment . . .

Women have long had a raw deal – treated as second class citizens compared with men.

In many parts of the world they have little or no rights. Even in countries like the UK and the USA, where they have the vote, as do men, – they have still not obtained equality of pay or power in the workplace or control of their own bodies

There has been progress in some areas, however. One only has to look back at how women were portrayed in advertisements like this one from the 1950’s to see far things have changed for women since then . . .

Nowadays, they have to ask to be spanked !

  2. Is there a Men’s day?

If not, then this is rampant sexism.

  3. Sexism comes from both sexes. And women are just as sexist as men. Why not an International Humanity Day?

  4. If anyone at Google had a sense of humour they would have made this the Google Logo on International Women’s Day yesterday 😆
