It’s that time of year again in the UK, when the new academic year at Colleges and Universities starts. And of course, there’s the traditional Freshers Week activities to be enjoyed – (http://tinyurl.com/6yc8mlx)
Thorpe Park is a theme park in Surrey, England and a popular attraction for students during Fresher’s Week. It is also a popular attraction for families, though less so during Freshers Week when parents and children run the risk of being covered in vomit from drunken students throwing up when going on some of the rides.
The management at the Park, however, has come up with a cunning plan to . . . keep students and families happy without losing money by turning one or the other lot away. They plan to breathalyze students on entry to the Park and those found to be ‘legless’ (drunk) will be shepherded onto the fastest, scariest ride – The Swarm. With it’s 127feet head-first drop, the ride is certain to have a sobering effect on the students (or at the very least, get all that vomit out of them at the start, in the one location). Thereafter, everyone, it is hoped – students, parents, kids – can enjoy their visit to the park. (Though I suspect parents and kids will be giving the vomit-covered Swarm a miss)
