Disabled Man Rescued from River

by duncanr

drowning150A 73 yr old disabled man, who accidentally drove his car into the River Can in Chelmsford, Essex, was saved from drowning by 3 passersby

As the man’s wife and daughter looked on, helplessly, two men jumped into the river and pushed/pulled his car into the side. A third man jumped in as the car began to sink and . . . the three of them supported the man – keeping his head above the water – until emergency services arrived to free him (Click on pics below to play video of the rescue – there’s an unavoidable ad that plays first before the rescue footage starts)

    • folk can be so cruel to one another, it’s great to be reminded that at the other extreme is the spontaneous action of some people to do what is necessary to try and save the life of a complete stranger, with complete disregard to any risk to their own lives in so doing
