A Policeman’s Lot is . . .

by duncanr

Traffic-police200Gilbert & Sullivan told us a policeman’s lot was less than ideal

That is as true now as it was then

Take, for example, traffic cop Shivajirao Gadge

The poor man was legless so incredibly tired when he arrived for work that he could barely stand

So he . . .

lay down on the floor behind a desk to rest his eyes for a moment or two, fell asleep, and missed his shift

He is now in trouble

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vishwas Pandhare said that he was not aware of the incident . . . “I am on leave but will inquire about it and take action

Quite right, too!

It’s a shocking state of affairs when hard-working cops have to sleep on a hard floor, with no pillow

Steps must be taken immediately to provide all cops with access to an appropriate rest room, equipped with soft comfy beds ***

How can you expect them to catch criminals if they are tired?
