Brits Know Nothing

by duncanr

puzzled brit220We all know certain things to be true – or think we do

A recent survey, however, for the Royal Statistical Society and King’s College London, suggests that Brits (and probably other nationalities too) are essentially clueless – our opinions and beliefs distorted by crap fed to us by politicians and the media for their own ends

  1. “A lack of trust in government information is also very evident in other questions in the survey – so ‘myth-busting’ is likely to prove a challenge on many of these issues. But it is still useful to understand where people get their facts most wrong.”

Very happy to see America is not alone in this.

  3. “A new survey for the Royal Statistical Society and King’s College London shows public opinion is repeatedly off the mark on issues including crime, benefit fraud and immigration.”

So, where did the ‘true’ statistiques that these opinions were compared with come from, and how were they arrived at ?

Are they, possibly, derived by using the same target culture employed by, among many others, the CPS who refuse to prosecute criminal cases unless they are cast iron ? This does nothing to combat crime but, hey, look at their amazing track record.
