So Sorry, Scotland

by duncanr

a few months ago, a clear majority of those voting in Scotland and Northen Ireland elected to remain in the European Union

however, opinion in Wales and England went the other way and the greater population in these two countries was enough to swing the overall vote of the UK as a whole into a narrow majority in favour of leaving the EU

since then, many of those who voted to leave have regretted their choice as the ramifications of that decision have become clearer

  1. Brilliant.
I watched Graham Norton on Irish television last week and he was very articulate about it. But then he said, ‘why don’t they do what we do here in Ireland? Hold the referendum again.

“We’ll give you another chance. Now read the question carefully and make sure you give the right answer this time”

  2. Is the next question whether Scotland and Northern Ireland will vote to leave the UK so that they can stay in the EU?

Next question, will Scotland and Northern Ireland now vote to leave the UK so that they can stay in the EU?

  4. Interesting question. If Scots had voted for independence, the Brexit question would have been fundamentally different. It’s quite obvious to close family such as those of us living in the far flung reaches of the empire, that the main reason Brits voted for Brexit was to spite the Scots, So who’s really to blame? The Scots, of course, for voting to remain part of the UK, and thus forcing the average Englishman to vote for Nigel and Boris.
