63-year-old Melethuveettil Sasi started work climbing coconut trees when he was 15 yr old but was left semi-paralysed down the right side of his body and unable to work following an accident 18 yrs ago

determined to feed his family, however, he applied for help to build a road through the hill by his house to enable him to reach the nearby town and earn some money there

when no help was forthcoming, he decided to do the job himself

disabled, and using just rudimentary tools, it took him . . .

3 years to carve a road through the hill

when news of what he was doing went viral, users on social media raised money to buy him a 3-wheeled scooter to assist his search for work – http://tinyurl.com/y7dbkaxz
