It’s scary how fast this works

The “wiggle” she advises doing is a viable evolutionary tactic.

Have you ever seen a traumatized dog crawl out of an auto accident or a destroyed building? They’ll move slowly, stiffly, until they sense they’re far enough away from danger, then they’ll shake all over like they’re shaking off water. Like magic, they’re back to their old selves. What they’re doing is literally shaking off their fight or flight response, they’re turning off cortisol and norepinephrine and relaxing their muscles all at the same time.

You’re an animal, too. Doing a little shake, a little wiggle while your stress response is activated and locking you up all over like a constipated robot inoculates you against the moron in your boss’s chair, a troll in the comments section, or that nob that just cut you off in traffic. It’s certainly faster and cheaper than fuming all day, pounding whiskey, and then abusing idiots on You Tube.

I hear.

I’ve been studying body language and the mind-body connection for 20 years and I can tell you, this stuff is hella powerful. Wiggling is just the tip of the iceberg.
