  1. Yeah, that pretty much sums up most French films. They start out light and full of promise, wreaking with beauty and conceptual art, then ennui sets in midway while everyone wonders where the hell this is going and finally the topic of death is trotted out at which point salient characters shrug their shoulders in resignation of their own mortality and celebrate by eating bread and having sex. Fin.
