  1. this story minded me of a bit of Scottish folk-lore of a young honeymoon couple who were killed on their wedding night when a giant boulder from an overhanging cliff fell, during a violent storm, and flattened their cottage with them inside –

    I used to spend a lot of time on the isle of Mull off the west coast of Scotland, and many times passed by the scene of this alleged tragedy

    and while I can’t attest to the veracity of this piece of folk-history, it’s always given me an eerie feeling seeing this great big boulder and thinking of the young couple whose coitus was so rudely interrupted – but then that is most probably just my celtic imagination at play?
