in December 2014, the blood alcohol concentration limit for drivers in Scotland was reduced from 80 mg/dL to 50 mg/dL

an expected benefit of this change in the law was a reduction in the number of road traffic accidents (RTAs) attributable, in part, to alcohol consumption

however, a recent study has found that the . . .

reduction in Scotland’s drink-drive limit did not lead to a corresponding reduction in the number of RTAs

the team carrying out this research suggest some reasons for this disconnect – see http://tinyurl.com/yas3wyxh – a simpler explanation, however, might be that the data shows Scots are just shit drivers, drunk or sober !
