Oregon’s Rogue River Blue Cheese just kicked 3,472 cheese’s asses at the 2019 World Cheese Awards! We’re the best cheese in the world!

Hell, I could’ve told ’em that years ago. Rogue Blue, as it’s known around here, is a coveted little slice of smelly, creamy heaven that melts in your mouth like frosting and only comes round once a year. Oregonians wait for it every fall like the salmon run, then we all run like salmon to our local shops. It sets us back about $30 a pound to start.

If you can get it.

My local cheese steward just told me they’re gonna run out before the weekend so if you’ll excuse me, I have a free sample to wrangle….

“Rogue River Blue is an organic cheese made annually with the best cow’s milk available, sourced from the Rogue Creamery’s organic dairy here in Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley.  Each wheel has been cave-aged for 9 to 11 months and hand-wrapped in organic Syrah grape leaves that have soaked in pear liqueur.

Our 2019 Rogue River Blue is evolving beautifully, and exhibits the pear, spice, blackberry, vanilla, hazelnut, chocolate, and bacon flavors for which this cheese is known.”

Translation: Om, nom, nom.
