Medical Humour

by noseycow

Written in medical notes:

* Discharge status: alive but without permission.

* The patient has been depressed ever since she began seeing me in 1983.

*  The patient refused an autopsy.

*The patient has no past history of suicides.

*Patient has left his white blood cells at another hospital.

*Between you and me, we ought to be able to get this lady pregnant.

* Since she can’t get pregnant with her husband, I thought you would like to work her up.

Nursery Fire

by noseycow

A fire at a Nursery in Mexico has  reportedly killed  29 children (aged 5 and under).

Full story

I was just watching the news showing anxious parents running towards the building to see if their child has survived. Their faces displaying exactly the same expression as those parents in Dunblane 13 years ago, Beslan 5 years ago and  Belgium earlier this year.  A fact that the likes of Nick Griffin continually over look.

A Bridge Jumper Too Far

by noseycow

BEIJING —  Chen Fuchao, a man heavily in debt, had been contemplating suicide on a bridge in southern China for hours when a passer-by came up, shook his hand — and pushed him off the ledge.

Chen fell 26 feet onto a partially inflated emergency air cushion laid out by authorities and survived, suffering spine and elbow injuries, the official Xinhua News Agency said Saturday.

The passer-by, 66-year-old Lai Jiansheng, had been fed up with what he called Chen’s “selfish activity,” Xinhua said. Traffic around the Haizhu bridge in the city of Guangzhou had been backed up for five hours and police had cordoned off the area.

“I pushed him off because jumpers like Chen are very selfish. Their action violates a lot of public interest,” Lai was quoted as saying by Xinhua. “They do not really dare to kill themselves. Instead, they just want to raise the relevant government authorities’ attention to their appeals.”

The power of positive thought

by noseycow

Duncan posted an interesting article about the power of positive thought, so i thought we could perhaps run a non European funded experiment of our own to test out his theory.

To ensure that we get accurate results we need everyone to join in regardless of your beliefs- its not difficult – honest!

Throughout today you just need to say the following phrase to yourself as often as possible:

I thank you for your assistance in this vital piece of scientific research!

Rest easy folks – Duncan is still with us!

But sadly, Maria Amelia Lopez has passed away at the tender age of 97. She started blogging just 2 years ago and is known for her postings on International and Spanish Affairs.

Three months ago Maria was introduced to Facebook and set up a group called ‘the elderly in action’ which Duncan has not been allowed to join because he doesn’t fit the “action” part!
