Brummie Cops 1 – 0 Rustlers

farmer and sheepbeen a while since I put up a post under the ‘Brummie Life’ heading describing some of the things that go on in my adopted home here in Birmingham but this is one I thought I’d share with you

in another part of the city, a mere 7.8 miles from my home as the crow flies – if it follows the A45/Small Heath Highway – police rounded up three . . .

Religion Sucks

by duncanr

some while back, I started an occasional series of posts under the tagline ‘Brummie Life’

one might have wondered then why I have not, so far, commented on the issue that has led to several enquiries, a spat between Government ministers, and resignation of a political advisor ?

an anonymous letter outlining a plan for muslim hardliners to take control of some Birmingham schools was ‘leaked’ to the press

this letter is widely regarded as a ‘hoax’ ( yet such is the fear of . . .

burglary_2When I moved to Birmingham, I first lived in Smethwick

Here West Midlands Police Sergeant Giles Dean, who overseas policing in Smethwick swaps his truncheon for a ukulele to get his crime prevention message across to the local community – though given the large black, afro-caribbean, asian presence in the area, I’m not too sure George Formby is the kind of music that will appeal to them !

shopping trolley120I have a choice of supermarkets for my weekly shop but have given my custom exclusively to just one for the past 5 or 6 years.

It is conveniently close, and open 24 hours a day

But I favour it primarily because of the wonderful variety of asian food on offer, and the woman on the checkout who scans my goods and offers cooking tips and suggestions for accompanying dishes

I fear though that the time has come when I must abandon TESCO for its rival ASDA

For though Tesco supplies almost all my daily needs, it lacks one thing that Asda has . . .

Naked women !

Sharon-Jaddoo-croppedA local woman (well, ‘local’ to me, anyway) is pretty pissed off after crackpot customs officials falsely suspected her of trying to smuggle cocaine into Jamaica

As Sharon Jaddoo said . . .

‘‘How stupid can you be? Hasn’t anyone told them you don’t smuggle drugs into Jamaica, you smuggle drugs out of Jamaica?

What did Sharon do that aroused the suspicions of customs and drug officials?

edlI don’t go into the city centre very often but had planned to do so today

It is over 2 years since the pups chewed my HiFi floor standing speakers and I have been determined for some weeks now to replace them. I’ve sussed out the store, picked out the speakers I want and had planned to buy them today.

On second thoughts, though, I think I’ll give town a miss today in case I run into these morons !
