just walk away, pretend you didn’t see it

trust me, it’s for the best

if you don’t believe me, just ask this guy –

the lads fitted two industrial washing machines and driers into the back of a van, drove to where the homeless hang out and offered to wash and dry their clothes for free – restoring a degree of dignity and self-respect for the homeless and an opportunity to engage in conversation with other people

their Orange Sky Laundry has now expanded to 5 vans serving different parts of Australia

later, he repaid her kindness by pulling her and her two young grand-daughters to safety when an electrical fault set the house on fire while they were asleep –

hhmmm, I’d say that makes them just about even ?

A Samaritan in New York

by duncanr

it was bloody cold the other day – despite the central heating being on, I still had to don extra clothes in an attempt to keep warm

but I’m one of the lucky ones – some folk don’t have access to a home (never mind one equipped with central heating) or the luxury of extra layers of clothing to combat the cold, but must rely on the kindness of others

fortunately for those in that situation, there are a few good people around . . . like this good samaritan on the New York City subway who gave a shivering, homeless guy the shirt off his back
