Grief is Not Transient

by duncanr

the pain of that loss has lessened over the years since she died – I no longer cry every day – but it has not entirely disappeared (and it never will !)

there are times, since she died, that I wish I wasn’t an atheist – because I’d sorely love to believe that our parting is just temporary !

to cut a long story short, the garden was getting to be a bit of a mess so I, reluctantly, got the mower and strimmer out, Friday – with the result that my back has been killing me since!

Bugger, Bollocks, Shit

by duncanr

the pain of that loss is no less now than it was when she died, though I am reminded of it less frequently now than once was the case – until I stumble upon fucken shit like this and am reduced to tears having been reminded of how much is missing from my life

Bold is Beautiful

meeting your partner’s parents for the first time can be a stressful event for anyone – even more so when you have something else to tell them !

this ad showing a couple of girls preparing to ‘come out’ and declare their love for one another to one of the girl’s parents has gone viral in India

in a sign of changing times and changing attitudes, the reaction to the video has been overwhelmingly positive
