Iran Tackles Rogue Camels

by duncanr

licenced-camelfolk in Iran are seriously getting the hump over the number of camel-related traffic accidents causing damage to their vehicles, and property

that would be bad enough in itself – what makes it worse is that the buggers culprits usually run off and there is no way to identify the camel or its owner in order to beat the shit out of them seek revenge compensation

fortunately, Mohammad-Sharif Khaleqinia, the secretary of Iranian Central Task Force to Combat the Smuggling of Commodities and Currency in Sistan and Baluchestan Province has a scheme to tackle the problem . . . http://tinyurl.com/gpuwbqr

Lamp-posts Attack Scots

by duncanr

Insurance company, Admiral, analysed claims over the past 5 years and grouped type of accidents by region of the country.

Some interesting patterns emerged – folk in the north-west of England were the most likely to be involved in a collision at traffic lights, while Scots were most likely to hit lamp-posts.

The latter comes as no surprise to me. These lamp-posts in Scotland are a bugger when you’re driving. Bloody things are a nuisance, and they’re cunning too. They bide their time, lulling you into a false sense of security, then when you’re driving home from the pub after 10 pints of heavy and a few whisky chasers the f*cken things leap out in front of you !

Mirror, Signal . . . Mascara

by duncanr

woman-driving-car-adjusting-mirror-applying-make-up250A poll of 4,000 women drivers by motor insurer Diamond reveals some startling and frankly frightening behaviour.

20% of those questioned admitted applying makeup while driving whilst 3% admitted to causing an accident when distracted by applying/touching up their makeup.

Scaling those figures up – this suggests around 450,000 (almost 1/2million) accidents a year are attributable to women more concerned about their appearance than the safety of themselves and other road users

Hhmmm, seems women aren’t so good at multi-tasking as they would like men to believe !!!
