Artist Hangs Himself

by duncanr

Andrzej Sobiepan snuck one one his paintings into the Polish National Museum and hung it on the wall of a room full of contemporary Polish art when the guard wasn’t looking. It was 3 days before Museum officials spotted the unauthorised addition to their exhibition

Museum director Mariusz Hermansdorfer said the issue revealed some security breaches, but that he also considered it a “witty artistic happening”

The museum has kept the painting on display – in its cafe. It will be offered for sale at Poland’s biggest charity auction on Sunday.
