A Few Leaves Short of a Tree

by duncanr

loserHard to believe that Joseph O’Callaghan – yes, he’s Irish – was once the fastest out of 500 million sperm.

That was no doubt the thought going through the mind of the judge who sentenced him to 9 years in prison for robbing a bank of an empty cash box

Bank Robber Shoots Himself in the Foot

by duncanr

Some folk are just not cut out for a life of crime

They just don’t possess the necessary motor skills, eye-hand co-ordination, and coolness under pressure to become a successful career criminal

Take the guy captured in this CCTV footage. All he had to do, while his mates were inside robbing a Bank in Parana, Brazil, was to stand at the door and prevent anyone coming into the bank while the robbery was in progress.

Simple enough task one would have thought. Instead, this plonker accidentally shot himself in the foot and was arrested by the police later when he went to a hospital for treatment

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Do You Know This Man ?

by duncanr

Some folk are just not cut out for a life of crime

Take the guy in this picture. He is described as “white, unshaven and ‘stocky’, aged in his late 20s to 30s. He is also, according to the police, “not the sharpest tool in the box”

The dude walked into a branch of the Halifax Bank in the Cheapside district of London and handed the cashier a note demanding £700,000 in cash.

So far so good but . . . instead of handing over his swag bag to be filled with money, he accidentally handed the teller his gun, then fled the bank when realising his mistake

Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the would-be thief – with how much success I’m not sure. They may find folk are too embarrassed to admit knowing this plonker !

Bank Robber Let Down by Shoddy Handwriting

by duncanr

Some of you may find this funny, but – as someone who’s own handwriting often defies interpretation – I have a certain amount of sympathy for Thomas J. Love.

The poor bugger handed a note scribbled on the back of a deposit slip to a bank teller demanding money – only to have the note handed back to him because . . .

Groundhog Day at Manhattan Bank

How it should be done

Chances are, if you were asked to name some famous american bank robbers then Billy the Kid, Bonnie & Clyde, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (amongst others) might spring to mind – not Chris Burnett

True, Burnett staged two successful bank heists but failure to observe some elementary rules meant he was caught after his 3rd robbery.

Especially in this age of CCTV cameras, failure to

Robber Runs into Police

by duncanr

I’ve never robbed a bank – honest!

But I would imagine if one were to do so successfully, a certain amount of planning beforehand would be essential.

A man arrested by police in Omaha on suspicion of bank robbery clearly neglected this important pre-requisite.

How else do explain his decision to rob a bank 2 blocks away from the local police HQ and then make his getaway from the bank, running TOWARDS aforementioned police station.

Need I say he was soon apprehended ?

The law didn’t need very long arms to solve this crime – the silly bugger ran right into them 🙄

A Guide to Free Health Care in the USA

by duncanr

Richard James Verone

What do you do if you have a growth in your chest, two ruptured discs, and no job or money.

Well, if you are fortunate to live in the UK with it’s National Health Service, you toddle off to your local GP (General Practitioner) or report to the A&E dept of your local hospital and your needs will be attended to.

If you live in the USA, however, you may have to do what 59 year old Richard James Verone did. He walked into a North Carolina bank, told the teller he had a gun and demanded she hand over $1, then sat down and waited for the police to arrive and arrest him, so he could get free medical care while in prison

Bank Robber offered a Loan

by duncanr

Fifty-nine-year-old Mark Smith held up a bank in Watsonville, California – demanding $2000 (a very modest sum, indeed) or he would detonate a bomb he was carrying in his backpack

Instead of handing over the cash . . .
