Am I Blue : Sita Sings the Blues

by duncanr

thrown out by her man and dumped in some god-forsaken part of the land when she tells him she’s pregnant, it’s no wonder Sita feels miserable

soon, though, she gives birth to twin boys (the spitting image of their dad, Lord Rama) and brings them up to think highly of Rama – for though he’s treated her like shit, the poor cow still loves the bastard and wants to be with him once more

Moaning’ Low : Sita Sings the Blues

by duncanr

Sita passing the fire test, and the intervention of the gods, did not reassure Rama, for long, of Sita’s fidelity and soon his doubts and jealousy re-surfaced and he was treating her like shit again

things came to a head when she announced she was pregnant

dismissing the possibility that he was the father, Rama took this as proof that she and Ravanna had been screwing one another during her ‘captivity’ and so threw the poor cow out

If You Want the Rainbow : Sita Sings the Blues

by duncanr

having survived Rama’s attempt to burn her alive, Sita is philosophical about the state of their relationship and Rama’s loving one minute, cruel the next, behaviour towards her

[poor sap doesn’t know there is yet more trouble ahead]

Mean to Me : Sita Sings the Blues

by duncanr

right, where are we?

ah, yes – Rama has killed the bad guy and rescued Sita

so how come it isn’t all roses in the garden?

well, Rama can’t bring himself to believe Sita remained faithful to him during her captivity, and his jealousy and suspicion sours their relationship

eventually, he decides to resolve his doubts by burning her alive – the theory being that if she is telling the truth about not shagging Ravanna, she’ll live, if not, then she’ll be toast

fortunately for Sita, the gods intervene to save her from the flames and tell Rama to stop being such an arsehole

P.S. don’t be fooled by that romantic kiss at the end of that video, folks – there’s more of this story still to be told !

Who’s that Knocking at my Door : Sita Sings the Blues

by duncanr

the story so far . . .

Rama abandons Sita to go off on a jolly boys outing with his mates.

While he is gone, Ravanna seizes the chance to kidnap Sita

Ravanna wants to screw Sita but she tells him to feck off

this seriously pisses Ravanna off so he sets a time limit – if she doesn’t put out before that limit expires, then it’s curtains for her

it’s not looking good for Sita but – wait, what’s that I hear?

Hurrah, Rama has killed the bad guy and rescued Sita, so now they can live happily ever after, right?

er, not quite . . . (to be continued)
