Havers !!!

by duncanr

A ‘leading food historian’ (not my description) claims Scotland’s National Dish – the haggis – was invented by the English.

This nonsensical claim is based on the flimsiest of ‘evidence’, viz, the inclusion of a recipe for Haggis in an English cookery book written a few years (171 to be exact) before Robert Burns wrote his poem in praise of the delicacy.

Source . . .

Next thing you know, the English will be claiming to have invented Scotland’s other National Dish – the Deep Fried Mars bar 🙄
