French police are anxious to capture the blooming buggers that have been stealing or cutting the heads off hydrangea plants

Apparently, when the leaves are dried and mixed with tobacco, the effect is similar to that of smoking cannabis

Now before any madhatters readers (mentioning no names, but you know who you are!) rush off to their nearest garden centre, armed with a pair of pruning shears, my conscience insists I warn you of possible side effects of smoking the hydrangea leaves – the flowers can apparently . . .
