Arthur’s Seat Fire – Drone Footage

generations of my family lived in Arthur St, at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, the extinct volcano in the heart of Edinburgh

as a child, I spent many happy hours playing on Arthur’s Seat with my cousins

later, it became a favourite place to walk my dogs, and later still a favourite haunt to court some willing girlfriends

so I have lots of happy memories of Arthur’s Seat

‘British Values’ and State Executions

self defence dronein an act – described by U.K. prime minister, David Cameron – as ‘self defence’, an RAF drone has killed two UK citizens fighting for ISIS in Syria who were believed to be plotting terrorist attacks in the UK

reaction to the news has been mixed – many folk, and some sections of the media, are exultant at the killings, their attitude perhaps best summed up as – who cares about the dubious legality of the assassination; these were scum that deserved to die !

al-Awlaki Killing Illegal ?

Nobel Prize for Peace winner, Barak Obama (who sanctioned the execution of Osama Bin Laden) proudly announced the execution of Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen by a CIA operated drone missile.

CIA Drone Software ‘Iffy’

The ‘alliance’ between Pakistan and the USA in the ‘war’ against the Taliban and Al Queda fighters in Afghanistan is an ‘uneasy’ one to say the least.

The USA is not popular with many Pakistani or Afghani citizens. A situation that is not helped by the CIA operated ‘drone’ attacks that are intended to target ‘enemy combatants’ but more often than not kill and injure innocent civilians.

The USA must be hoping then that . . .
