Duncan is a . . .

by duncanr

Hhmmm, what to make of this ?

following a suggestion on B&P, I opened a new tab in my chrome browser and typed my name followed by ‘is a’ in the address box

this is a screen grab of google’s attempt to second guess what I was looking for – based presumably on frequency of previous searches – which makes one wonder about all those folk that think I’m a tampon !

this is one you can try at home – what does google think you are?

go on, you know you’re curious now !

Where were you yesterday?

by duncanr

police interrogationYou’ve all seen movies or programmes on TV where a character is asked to recall where they were at a time and date in the past.

Some of you may have been unfortunate enough to have police put that question to you

As someone who has difficulty remembering where I was and what I did the day before yesterday, I only hope I am never required to provide police with an alibi for an incident that happened weeks or months ago

Fortunately, if ever I find myself in that situation, Google may be able to help me.

As the owner of an Android phone which has . . .

Google Censors Street View Pic

by duncanr

Google Camera cars have caught quite a few people on film doing what they shouldn’t be doing while filming scenes for their Street View service

blurred1-1730376When folk started, a few days ago, sharing an ‘inappropriate’ image on Twitter of a couple in Temperance St, Manchester, being a bit ‘naughty’, Google acted quickly to blur the image – before then removing it completely

And what was the pic that caused the kerfuffle?

Where the Internet Lives

by duncanr

Our server at work fell over twice last week and we all sat round twiddling out thumbs while we waited for our IT guy to get it up and running again – brought home how dependant we are on computers for the business to function.

Also made me wonder how the big guys like Google ensure their business isn’t affected by servers falling over

Calling all followers, likers, G+-ers and FB-ers….

by NobblySan

Right you lot.

It’s time to (as our transatlantic colonial brethren say…) either shit or get off the pot.

For some time now, Duncan has had the Mad Hatters linked to both Facebook and Google+, so that all our posts get flagged there. Bearing this in mind, I know that you buggers are  reading this, so no weaselling out of it, I know that you have received this open invitation.

The English are C*nts

Asked to ‘define an English person’, Google suggests ‘c*nts’

Let it Snow

by duncanr

Those folk at Google have come up with a new gimmick to amuse you

Do a google search for “let it snow” (without the inverted commas) and watch as snow begins to fall across your screen

Your screen will gradually mist over. You can clear this by using use mouse as a ‘windscreen wiper’. Click left mouse button and keep it depressed while you move the mouse across the screen. The path underneath the mouse trail will become clear. Alternatively, click the ‘defrost’ button that will appear near the top of your screen
