Prostitutes Wanted

by duncanr

enter here200There’s a few red faces and a lot of tittering, I’ve no doubt, at the UK’s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) after an ad briefly appeared on the Government’s Job Search website advertising openings for whores (

That cancer patients get Free Prescriptions  from the NHS, unless of course they happen to live in Scotland or Wales were EVERYONE already gets them free.

Prescription charges of £7.10 per ITEM, remain the cause of one of the biggest Health Inequalities in the UK.

Some patients automatically get ALL of their prescriptions free of charge, they are children, and those with certain medical conditions (including Diabetes, Thyroid problems and Epilepsy) others can claim if they think they are eligible. Also GP’s have some discretion (but a limited budget) to grant free prescriptions for patients with life long illnesses who apply to their surgery. More information here.

The 334 steps

by noseycow

Big Ben turns 150 today, and celebrations have started with the launch of a website . Now please form an orderly British queue or the site will go down under the demand.

I haven’t looked because I’m still to busy earthquake watching, but I suspect it will be as interesting as George Bush’s shoe collection, and probably cost as much as the Northern Rock bailout.
