Apologies for the picture of a truly horrible woman.

by NobblySan

Just in from No1 son . . .

In the interests of public decency, and to avoid panic in the ranks of right-minded people, the photo is hidden within this link.

If the photo offends too much, just cover it with your hand before scrolling down and reading some wondrous wit from Mr Frankie Boyle, who is becoming quite the entertaining columnist now that he’s over his spell of being a bit of  an attention-seeking tosser.

Je Suis Steve

by duncanr

up yours, Jimmy !

up yours, Jimmy !

oh dear, seems a lot of my compatriots (and some non-Scots too) are up in arms about a Steve Bell cartoon published in the Guardian newspaper – claiming it is racist –

well, some might certainly see it as offensive and I (as a Scot masel) can see why they may think so, but is it worth getting one’s knickers in a twist ?

I didn’t comment on the murder of Charlie Hebdo cartoonists and staff because . . .

Wanking : Typo or Freudian Slip ?

by duncanr

The Guardian newspaper has a well-deserved reputation for typos – so much so that it has earned for itself the alternative title ‘The Gruniad’

I’m not so certain, though, that this header that was subsequently ‘corrected’ – the word ‘wanking’ being replaced by ‘ranking’ – was a typo at all, rather than the writer’s inadvertent revelation of his true opinion of the performance of the pundits commentating on the recent series of cricket matches between England and Australia 😆

MadHatters to be banned

by NobblySan

Dearie me
Oh, my giddy Aunt!

Does any of the above stuff offend you? If so, at what point on the list do you cease to be offended, or feel vaguely uncomfortable when faced with such despicable language?

The reason that I ask is not just that the MadHatters seems to remarkably safe and civilised these days, with asterisks replacing the odd potentially impolite U, and there being helpful warnings about content being Not Safe for W (whether that W is for work, wimps or wankers has yet to be decided).
No, dear reader, I’m asking because…..

Absolute fucking gibberish

by NobblySan

tom-daley1_2308057bTom Daley is a diver.

Not in the footballing, Cristiano Ronaldo sort of way, mind you: No, he’s an Olympic high board diver –  and a bloody good one at that.

He has recently come out as being gay; using a well-crafted YouTube video to explain to all and sundry that he is in a relationship with another bloke. Needless to say, as a high-profile (and therefore well sponsored) sports figure this must have taken some serious bottle on the lad’s part.  This approach could have backfired spectacularly. What it has done though,
